Handmade A4 Lino Print - ‘The Hermit’ - Handprinted Limited Edition Original Artwork

‘The Hermit’ is based on a mix of Odin, Gandalf, Merlin, and the woodwose, or wildman of the woods, but mostly on John Bigg, the Dinton Hermit, a little-known 17th century hermit who lived in a cave, and patched his boots and clothes with leather, so much so that they became a giant patchwork. There were fascinating rumours about Bigg’s potential involvement in the trial of Charles I, which, if true, would have his reclusive existence upon the Restoration of the monarchy thereafter make perfect sense! Some say he’s still living in his cave, hiding out… Will you give the hermit a home? ‘The Hermit’ is one of a limited edition of 100, printed on archival Awagami Hosho paper, and is A4 size. Numbered, titled and signed by me, 'Puck Powler'. Sold unmounted. Each piece is handprinted, so will feature variations such as chatter, ink ‘saltiness’ or patchiness, etc. Each will be a little bit different, and therefore unique.
